By increasing breathing resistance, the Tatum RDS indicates the residual pressure in the compressed gas canister. In the period between activation and when the residual pressure is reached, the Tatum RDS does not affect the breathing resistance in the breathing regulator. The Tatum RDS only affects the main regulator; all other functions – such as the secondary regulator, the inflator and the 1st safety device remain operational, even in the warning phase.
Like our other apparatus, the Tatum RDS also has a modular design for easy maintenance. It comprises the following modules:
The Tatum DRASH switching connection piece supersedes the individual twin shut-off valve and connects two breathing regulators to one standard valve.
The switching unit allows the user to disconnect one or other of the breathing regulators from the high-pressure connection, simply by turning it 90° in either direction.
This means you no longer need to waste time finding the right handwheel when using a free-flow breathing regulator, The Tatum DRASH connection piece is made up of modules like those also used in the Tatum FS and Tatum FS Mono pressure regulators.
A Tatum Seguro type rescue vest designed specially for the Tatum Easy harness system can turn it into a rescue aid. When inflated, the Tatum Seguro rescue vest keeps the diver in a position where they cannot drown, no matter what condition they are in or what other equipment they are carrying. The Tatum Seguro rescue vest is easy to attach to the Tatum Easy harness system. It has a swim bladder with two chambers, each of which has a manually activated CO2 filling device. The redundant system provides 275 N of buoyancy force, and the activation mechanism is on the outside, making it easy to find and access when wearing neoprene gloves. The drawstraps also have a mechanism that prevents them from being activated unintentionally. Nevertheless, one hand movement is still all that is required to operate them. The Tatum Seguro rescue vest has been manufactured and tested in accordance with the DIN EN 399 standard.
When combined with a wing float that has been manufactured and tested in accordance with DIN EN 1809, the Tatum Easy harness system becomes a buoyancy compensator jacket that offers outstanding underwater stability. The buoyancy body sits very close to the gas canisters’ centre of gravity, compensating for the torque when the wearer is lying sideways and the bobbing effect of swimming with a flotation device.
